After I've created a car model how would I be able to use it in vdrift?

For the car specs I just plan on tweaking the corolla's settings so I guess just cut/paste into the new car folder?

I haven't created a model yet, I'm currently teaching myself how to use blender (which shouldn't take too long because I've worked with programs like this in the past)

FYI the car I plan on modeling is the first gen scion xb Tongue

I'm guessing you are on Windows? If so notepad will save the files fine, but it will add a .txt to the end (and probably hide it!) so you end up with mycar.car.txt.

I think you need to right-click the file, go to properties and it should show you the full filename there. Remove the extra .txt and you should be good to go!

If you are on anything else, just use any text editor, save as .txt and change the file name when you are done.

Good luck with Blender! It can be frustrating at first but its really good once you get the hang of it.
The easier way to do it on windows when using notepad is to click "Save As ...", select file type as "All Files", and make sure that the filename you use ends with ".car" (e.g. xb.car) - this saves you having to rename the file later.
