Full Version: 3ds car Import and Export Failure in Blender v2.49 for os x

I have an iMac Intel Dual Core, and cars in 3ds format. No problem importing into "Wings 3d", but cannot export to "*.joe".

However, using Blender v2.49, with "import-joe.py" and "export-all-joe-0.3.py" scripts present, I cannot import nor export with Blender. Note that Blender sees the py scripts without any issues.

As the python scripts are from 2005, I was wondering if someone has newer versions of those scripts or is there some other way to convert 3ds to joe?
Thanks, but those are the ones I have used.
The export-all-joe-0.3.py linked above is the most recent. What error are you getting? Is it possible to run blender from the command line so you can see the python output? Have you triangulated your mesh?

Another option (not tested much yet) is to export from blender as wavefront obj (make sure you turn on the "triangulate" option and the "normals" option) and then convert to .joe using the modelconvert utility, which is included in the SVN repository for VDrift under tools/modelconvert.
Many thanks all...... now that I have modified some settings, I have blender converting to joe.

Keep up the good work!
