test my EF? it's very pre-alpha, but it's pretty much just the body that's pre-alpha. i already made (what i think is) a getting-close-to done .car file and engine sound.

the model isn't mine, i found it on a blender forum and the person licensed it under the gpl. it's just a low poly version right now, until i can figure things out.
i need suggestions for the .car file. but right now the .car has been tuned in all areas except weight and aerodynamics.
so, tell me what'ya think if you get around to trying it out. thanks! Big Grin
Hi portets,

Before exporting the mesh please disable/delete the subsurf modifier(bottom right box).

Here the exported mesh(has about 20000 verts) from your export.blend

Is this the original blend file?

Doesn't the exporter apply the modifier stack?
Yes, it does. But with the subsurf modifier the mesh has about 300000 verts. So the export script fails with out of range index error:"h format requires -32768 <= number <= 32767". And applying a decimate operator onto a subsurfed mesh to reduce polycount reduces the quality of the mesh imho.

oh, okay. thanks!

yeah, that's the one! it was posted in a thread here and i decided to go take a look. but the only working download link i could find is the one you posted above. i decided to try exporting it because nobody else did(there are quite a few threads here where people didn't finish things :p). but it looks like i'll be doing the same. so I'm putting off exporting this into VDrift, at least until i learn how to use blender  . it looks like the model has to be touched up quite a bit after taking away the subsurf, and i just can't do that yet. i also don't know how to texture the model, so this car is asleep for now.

thanks for the help though, i'll probably finish this sometime later this year.

edit: maybe not. i've been reading tutorials and blender isn't really all that hard. i think i'm still working on this, i just might take a while because i'm learning blender while i'm at it.
