I don't have access to WinXP. Thus there is no official support as long as we don't get someone to look after it.
There is no log file. probably the exe is closed even before processing the log

I can't get to run this game on a win xp desktop with ati graphics card.
It first said msvcr100.dll is needed,i installed the .dll file,but even after that nothing comes up when i click on the application.
Can someone help me?

You will need

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/...px?id=8328 . Next release won't have this requirement.
Also check the log file: Documents -> VDrift -> log.txt (hmm, it could be named differently on winxp)
PS: In game update/download functionality is broken due to hoster changes.

Hmm, there is not much that can be done from here I fear, don't have a WinXP machine.
You could still try to locate the log.txt file VDrift creates at every start, and post its contents here. Look for VDrift folder. It contains controls.config, VDrift.config, log.txt and a few other files, folders.
I located vdrift.config,controls config etc,but all log files are 0 kb(empty) except for utility.log:
Could not find texture: data/tex/data/cars/mustang_gt/interior.png

Empty log files would mean it crashes very early, before any game code is executed. Would need someone who can compile/debug vdrift under winxp to fix this, sorry.
