Hi developers

id like to test your game ... but ...

first it cryes on me that some lib is missing ... so ok i put it in

but then at the game ... when i start it first and start run ... there was car only faling down and rotating ... no track, ground or something

so i select track, then it was ok

but the controling is unuseable ...

car do nothing

so put in some default control and missing lib ... seems its good game but .. if its unable to play ... it not so good Smile

and sorry about my english Smile ... im from czech rep.

thx and i wish the best
What system are you using?
What lib was missing?
How did you install or compiled VDrift?

If I have an answer on all this questions I can help you maybe (or somebody else)
Yes, please tell more about how you installed and what your system is - we can't fix problems if we're not even sure if you're using Windows, Linux or Mac. Smile

or FreeBSD Wink
It's possible he's using BSD, for some reason I thought he said he was using the latest version, but he actually didn't say that either...

Judging from his description of the problem my best guess is that he's using the 2-21 Windows version. If so he should download and install the 7-8 windows installer, as all that stuff was fixed...
ok ok im back ... sorry about waiting :o)

so ....

i download 20006-02_21 version

instaler didnt create Data folder so i must do it manualy (i found this hint at this forum) then there was missing openAL.dll library

so i corect this and huray ... game runing Smile

but the control .... its terrible Smile ... i think it not response but it was not binded. Why? put some default config, same same default start track and car because when i didnt select one after game begin a see car only falling down

and implement hand break Smile ... its basic stuff for drifting i think

game looks fine .... so tune it up and ... it will be perfect .. or try to inspirate from somethink ... like Live for Speed

have a nice day

EDIT : ... oh sorry i forget

my config : P4 2,6GHz, 256RAM, WinXP Proff, RADEON 9200SE

I donwload something about 120MB big now and all looks fine :o)

but .... 1 more problem :o)

but it happens sometime, sometime its good (with textures)
so ... turn your brains on and show must go on :o)
Hy Crusty,

There's a new windows package just out.
It's link is in on of the stories on the homepage.
Now the opal issue and data dir issue should be fixed.
I just installed the new Windows Vdrift package on a new computer and it runs fine.
Hope it'll also work for you.
to kcid : yes i know.I wrote it.I download it now (max before 10 minutes)
The white textures thing is a known bug on all platforms. Hopefully it'll get fixed by next version. If you start a game and the textures are white, quit VDrift and start it again, it should be fine.
im using windows XP and just downloaded the current installation file and it does not work it comes up loading then a picture comes up that says Vdrift with a pic of a car drifting in the back ground then the game closes??? please help

What kind of video card do you have? How much video memory does it have? It sounds like the game is crashing when trying to load textures. If you have a video card which shares system memory for VRAM, try increasing this amount in your BIOS.
