Full Version: I think I know why the E brake sucks

Ive noticed that in AWD and RWD cars, if you hold down the E-brake for too long, your car cuts out. This makes sense because there is still motion going to the wheels which is hooked to the engine. It would explain why the hand brake doesnt work very well and causes people to spin out when it does.

Solutions:

1) (the one I want) a clutch button. When the button is down, the clutch is in. when the button is up, the clutch is engaged. I dont know how you would incorporate that into a controller but Im sure I can make it work on a keyboard.

2) Make the clutch go in when you pull the E and engage the clutch when its back off.
We support analog clutch controls, so you should be able to map that to a button and have it work.

About the stalling, that should be prevented by the autoclutch if you have it engaged... it's supposed to put in the clutch when the revs drop too low. If you hit the handbrake too hard, though, it might not push the clutch in fast enough.

I think thats what Im doing. I set it to 4x regular strength.

Ill try the analog clutch.
