ahh when i try to race another car the game freezes up.
i dunno if anyone else said this already or if it's happened to anyone else
does anyone know how to fix this?

It happened to me every now and then on detriot. have you tried other levels/cars?

I'm having the exact same problem on most courses. Most of the times it happens about five seconds after the start of the race and sometimes after 30 seconds or one minute. I'm using Windows Vista.
yeah same for me, happens every time and every course and car i try. it only happens if you're versing an opponent.
These are known issues. Faster computers will handle more opponents better but slower ones have big problems. The code is not efficient enough to have many cars on track at a time yet. A fix for this will hopefully come in the upcoming release (whenever that is) or if we release early and it doesn't make it, the next one.
I noticed I can play with as many opponents as I want on the "Ruudskogen" track which happens to be my favorite track
I never had a freeze when just driving on a track.
The issue I know of is only when you run into an object.
