There's a big bugfix in R1833 (big in its effect, not in its size). With this rev there are no wheels falling through the ground, no invisible holes, and no abnormal rotation of the car.
Sweet. I'll have to try this.
Same here! good job! Big Grin Big Grin
Is it just me or does suzuka 2005 now have more of those invisible bumps on the main straight? :? :?
suzuka got 3 or 4 before on the main straight. Havent played it with the bugfix yet....
It's better, but there's still a bump going into the second to last turn on laguna seca.
Ya theres still four on suzuka. guess this didn't fix all the bump bugs?
P.S. Somebody make it so that there is no skidding noise on sand and grass, but rather a muffled noise.
All remaining road bump bugs should be fixed R1838.

Boy, does it feel good to say that.

No, but it sounds like I did! Confusedhock:
Okay, fixed wall collision in R1840.
Okay, as mentioned in IRC, it looks like this didn't fix all of the bumps. Damn.
Maybe those bumps are really on the track.

How hard is it to create a wireframe mode?

i am sure the "bumps" have something to do with the vertical wall collision detection. on suzuka the bumps are back (now that vertical collision detection has been put back in) and when i hit a guardrail the car goes flying (so something is not quite right there).

i made a short recording of t73 at suzuka. you can get it from http://caliban.lbl.gov/vdrift/4.vdr. the wheels of the t73 seem to go through the guardrail. the collision box is probably too small but i don't know how to adjust it. then you notice that as the car moves along it suddenly just goes nuts. this is probably the vertical collision detection not working properly. then there is the stutter, the car kind of jumps backwards just a little bit. some interpolation code is probably wrong and this i suspect confuses the collision detection code.

no solutions, unfortunately.
