seriously im always playing a computer
yes, ppc
yes, intel
If there's anyone like me, who has vdrift installed on an Intel Mac with boot-camp and plays both natively on the Mac side, and on the PC side, can you perhaps confirm that there are some differences in speed/handling due to differences in the game engine.

Specifically I notice large simulation differences between the two implementations when using the Mini on the Nordschleife.
I did not have the chance to run/compile VDrift on a bootcamp'ed Windows. I did some quick tests (not with the Nordschleife) on Linux though (on the iMac) and did not encounter any performance differences in comparison to the "native" MacOS X VDrift.

Game performance, or simulated car performance?

I have no issues with the game's performance. But my top speed and acceleration in the mini at certain parts of the circuit varied according to whether I played as a Mac or as a PC, and those variations were greater than could be accounted for by small changes in my driving style.

I suspect rounding errors in the maths libraries are to blame - but I was surprised to see a difference I could notice!

What do you mean by "game performance" or "simulated car performance"? I just started a practice race to see if the compilation went fine. So no in-depth tests.

Hmm, sorry I cannot help you with that right now. If it would have been a PPC-iMac I would guess that there might be some little-endian vs big-endian issues, but on an Intel-iMac ... ? Don't know ...
i once used an imac to play dota.. nice graphical view and the speed..

I run "vdrift" on my 24" iMac intel dual core using a Logitech wireless gamepad, and I find it runs perfectly. Great work done by one and all. Always watching for newest releases of vdrift (currently running v2009-06-15).

I also have an XBox 360, but the graphics are so good with vdrift on the iMac, that I have stopped playing "Forza", and now only use the xBox to play Halo 3.
